The SPG50 geared motor is bigger in its size and produced higher power compare to SPG30 geared motor. It is a low-cost solution for robotics as well as automation projects.
This model of SPG50 brush motor comes with a 60:1 gearbox. The gearbox output shaft is D-shaped and 6mm in diameter. The rated voltage is 12V, yet we have tried to drive this motor from 9V to 15V. Lower voltage might not have enough torque to drive the wheel or mechanism; higher voltage will provide higher torque and higher speed, but it will shorten the life of the motor.
For Arduino lover, get the MDD3A to control this motor with Arduino.
Mounting
For mounting, the depth of the thread of the motor is 3.2 mm. So, you need to use 3.2 mm length (or shorter) M3 size screw. A longer screw will damage the gear box. You may need to consider the thickness of the bracket or other mechanism that you need to attach to the motor for choosing the screw.
